Description
Bay Badminton Center will host its first annual tournament on May 23-25, 2008 at their new 16 court facility. Players representing the United States for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing include Howard Bach, Tony Gunawan, Halim Haryanto will be attending. The tournament is sponsored by United Commercial Bank and will award a total prize money of $20,000 to winners placing in men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles. This is an exciting event in the fast growing sport of badminton. Badminton has always been portrayed as a game that people play in the backyard or at a family picnic. Very often people have a misconception that badminton lacks intensity and serious competition.
