Nestled against the shopping Mecca of San Francisco, South San Francisco seems to stand in the shadow of major department stores, high-end boutiques and rare gems in the retail world. But, while this little corner city in San Mateo County may not boast it's own Nordstrom or Bloomingdales, it does feature a wide variety of shops that cater to a much less fast-paced crowd. Humble strip malls are home to neighborhood eateries, family owned specialty stores and every-day stores like Safeway or Longs Drugs.
